Essential Psychopathology & Its Treatment Book Design

About: I was excited to work on the 5th edition of Essential Psychopathology & Its Treatment, a foundational text in the field of psychiatry. Guided by the authors’ humanistic vision of psychiatry, the design centers on two abstract faces in dialogue, symbolizing empathy, connection, and understanding at the core of mental health treatment. The molecular motif featuring serotonin, dopamine, and norepinephrine carries into the interior, creating a bridge between the biological and the emotional dimensions of care. Despite the book’s dense academic content, the clean typography, modern color palette, and open layouts make it feel fresh, readable, and visually cohesive for a new generation of practitioners.
